Professional credentials:Owen graduated from the University of Sydney with a bachelor degree in law in 1970 and is a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He leads the Commercial Law team and has a successful property law and private client practice.
Owen's practice:In the area of commercial law, Owen provides advice to a wide variety of clients ranging from Cabcharge Australia Limited and its related companies, to large privately owned corporations and smaller enterprises. He has acted in both large acquisitions, sales of businesses, partnerships and drafting of complex commercial agreements. In 2005, Owen's work for ComfortDelGro / Cabcharge in its acquisition of Westbus contributed to Pigott Stinson being nominated as a finalist in "Insolvency & Restructuring Deal of the Year", ALB Awards. At a private level Owen provides advice to a large client base including 3rd generation clients in areas such as conveyancing, estate planning and small business. Since 1970, Owen has represented the NSW Taxi Council as well as major taxi owner groups in the taxi industry in New South Wales. He has been heavily involved in most major developments affecting the taxi industry in New South Wales and through this association,Owen has gained particular expertise in such areas as industrial law and cooperative network affairs.
